[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Environmental experts from across Ohio will take part in a two-day conference addressing storm water flooding and water quality concerns across Northeast Ohio. The conference is planned for May 21-22, 2008 at Cuyahoga Community College’s Eastern Campus, 4250 Richmond Road in Highland Hills.

Many local communities are experiencing a dramatic increase in flooding because of continuing development across Northeast Ohio. New roads, parking lots and rooftops are preventing rain and snow from being absorbed into the ground, resulting in storm-runoff entering streams as well as flooding of homes and businesses.

The Tinker’s Creek Watershed Partners, the Chagrin River Watershed Partners and Tri-C’s Eastern Campus are hosting the conference. Professionals who deal with storm water issues on a regular basis, including engineers, consultants, watershed organizations, governmental organizations and academic staff, are expected to attend the conference. Elected officials, citizens and students are also invited to attend to become better educated about health problems associated with storm water.

Keynote speakers include Nikos Singelis, U.S. EPA, and Chris Korleski, Director of the Ohio EPA.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row margin_top=”50″ el_class=”tinker_post_media”][vc_column][vc_media_grid style=”load-more” items_per_page=”12″ gap=”10″ btn_title=”LOAD MORE” btn_color=”primary” grid_id=”vc_gid:1462470356028-4845e901-4c51-6″ include=”420,421,422,423,424,425,426″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
