Fall marks the final days of our 2026 volunteer water quality monitoring season. Throughout the year, our volunteers have been out across the watershed collecting valuable data that helps us better understand the health of our local streams.
This year, 10 volunteers contributed over 110 hours toward our data collection efforts, collecting over 90 water quality samples across 17 sites. Three volunteers also conducted more than a dozen chloride tests at several sites to help us monitor salt levels in our streams.
The data collected by our monitoring team will be used to develop our 2026 Tinker’s Creek Water Quality Report Card, providing a snapshot of water quality throughout the watershed. We’ll also submit our data to the Lake Erie Volunteer Science Network (LEVSN), where it can contribute to broader assessments of water quality across the Lake Erie watershed.
We would like to give a resounding “thank you” to all our dedicated volunteers who make this work possible. Their time and commitment allow us to continue building a valuable record of water quality across our watershed year after year. We could not do this work without them!
