Chris Chaney

Park Biologist, Conservation Department at Summit Metro Parks

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Christopher Chaney is a Park Biologist in the Conservation Department at Summit Metro Parks where he promotes the Wild Back Yards initiative and manages the organization’s nursery in the Tinker’s Creek watershed. He has 15 years of experience in surveying and stewardship, from reforestation and restoration projects to botanical surveys and wetland delineations. Christopher is passionate about working at the intersection of ecological integrity and human wellbeing and seeks to inspire others to see the beauty and value of the natural world.

Christopher’s passion for nature is a product of growing up in Northeast Ohio and exploring its watersheds. From the Rocky River to the Cuyahoga, Lake Erie to the Chagrin River and its tributaries; his youth was spent splashing around and observing the wildlife supported by these systems. When he’s not at work he can be found watching his children play sports, restoring nature around his home, or enjoying a hike.
